Summary: # This position serves as MPP#s primary resource for behavioral health professional fee billing.

# This is a unique role within the MPP RCM Department crossing both intra and inter departmental lines. The job requires assisting with the coding, charge entry, appeals and reimbursement follow-up, in addition to training both MPP clients and staff on how to accurately document and bill for behavioral health professional fee claims.

# The successful candidate will have a deep background in both the mechanics of behavioral health documentation, coding and billing, as well a broad understanding of associated regulatory and compliance issues.

# Employee is expected to perform other similar and related duties as assigned.

# This position is available in either MPP#s Vernon, CT or Middlebury, CT office.

# Key Roles # Responsibilities: Assign ICD10 codes and CPT codes for inpatient, ED and outpatient professional fee billing. Enter appropriate modifiers as applicable to CPT codes Cross-train charge entry staff on coding and documentation unique to behavioral health

# Collaborate with insurance companies to resolve behavioral health denied claims. issues Work designated unpaid claims in a timely manner Cross-train A/R reimbursement staff on working denied claims unique to behavioral health. Gather and exchange information with providers and other practice personnel Train MPP clients (providers and staff) on proper behavioral health coding and documentation.
# Maintain working knowledge of changes in related regulatory and compliance issues Candidate must be detail oriented and organized Candidate must be able to work well in a team environment All other duties as assigned

Qualifications: Required: CPC (coding); demonstrated ICD10 proficiency

Required: Experience with ICD-10 and behavioral health CPT codes

Strongly Preferred:

#Professional certification (ie AAPC) in behavioral health coding Experience with Allscripts PM, RCxRules, and/or Allscripts
# Cerner EMR a plus Ability to work independently and in a team environment 5-7 years of medical billing experience with a concentration in behavioral health professional fee billing Ability to prioritize and communicate clearly.

#Uses tact and judgment while maintaining strict confidentiality. Ability to document coding and abstract finding in the medical record. Ability to read and comprehend Medical Records. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
